More buses, more often — changes from Monday 3 August 2026

From Monday 3 August 2026, we’re rolling out a bigger, more frequent timetable across the Northern Illawarra. That’s more than  83 extra services a week — around 10% more than we run today — with better connections, longer running hours, and a simpler network.

Here’s what’s changing at a glance:

Route What’s happening
Route 90
Austinmer to Wollongong
Every 10–15 minutes during weekday peaks (7–9am and 2.30–6pm). Sunday services run every 30 minutes until 8.17pm, with the last service out of Wollongong at 9.17pmmore than double the services on our current Sunday timetable. Better connections with trains at Thirroul.
Route 91
Austinmer, Bulli, Corrimal to University of Wollongong
Timetable updated to better align with university peak periods. Now the main route to UOW.
Route 92
East Bulli, East Woonona, Corrimal
Twice as many Sunday services — now every 60 minutes, up from every 2 hours. Weekdays also lifted to hourly. Route will operate Bulli–Corrimal, with selected weekday school-peak services continuing to Wollongong. All other journeys to Wollongong will require you to change at Corrimal to the more frequent Route 90.
Route 93 Will no longer operate. Use Route 91 for the university, or Route 92 for local trips (transfer at Corrimal for UOW).
School services Changes across 9 schools. Some routes are being replaced by the more frequent Route 90 and 92 services. Visit our School Services page.

What this means for you

  • Commuters: More buses when you actually need them — early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Parents and students: Some school routes are changing or being replaced. Check your school’s page for the details that apply to you.
  • Uni students: One clear route to campus on Route 91, better timed to your day.
  • Sunday travellers on Route 90: More than double the current services, running every 30 minutes until 8pm with the last bus departing Wollongong at 9.17pm and the last bus departing Austinmer at 10.06pm.
  • Sunday travellers on Route 92: Double the services — every hour instead of every two. Heading to Wollongong? A quick change at Corrimal puts you onto Route 90, which is also running twice as often on Sundays.
